This is the double x 2 rake, a new version of the classic inner groove pick but with two picks to use with the wrench – meaning this pick is for the newer VAG locks after 2005 when they introduced a double clutch mechanism. The wrench has two grooves so the actual 2-piece pick slides through one of these each, adding some stability and precision to the raking process, a great development on an already excellent design.

Was sceptical ordering this as the price seemed low for the quality of tool that arrived. I’ve seen much dearer poorer quality products but this is definitely high quality. The picks themselves are twin picks for the newer double clutch lock I had to smooth down the edges slightly with wet n dry paper so it goes into the locator and tensioner but it opened my Audi A1 15 plate no problems I’d like to see more like this for the remainder off the car range as there onto a winner with it downsides if you don’t know what your doing with this tool then if check out you tube as no instructions came with it some of the edges require a smoothing down as covered before and if I got really picky the soft cushioning layer inside the case could be changed to thicker foam but I’m really picking at straws here as can’t fault the product one bit given the scope of the cars that can be opened in the VAG group and for less than a tenner only question is Why wouldn’t you want one?
